Did you know that your space is an outward expression of your mind? Many people live their daily lives totally unaware of this fact. Yet cluttered spaces are often times the reason we experience energy blocks, fatigue, and anxiety. This is why decluttering is so important!
Space has always been a focus of the declutter process and for obvious reasons. But there are other aspects of our lives that are at risk for clutter! Like our time, and our minds. That’s right clutter is a silent happy life hacker.
Decluttering Time: Are there things that you want to do, but you feel there is never enough time? Or do you over commit yourself to multiple tasks, then end up not completing them or canceling?
This was the story of my life for the longest. I never wanted to say no to offers for fear of losing opportunities and potential relationships. It took me a while to realize that not showing up, or canceling last minute was actually causing more damage than declining the offer all together.
We shouldn’t live our lives in cluttered time.
Decluttering your time is all about making time for the things that matter most when you over commit yourself you are adding too many unimportant task into your 24 hour day.
Here are a few life tools to help you unclutter your time:
Step 1.) Carry a planner- Planners are awesome for prioritizing your busy schedule. Plus there are many different types to choose from!
Step 2.) Never bite off more than you can chew- Try not to over schedule your time. Sure your intentions are good but relationships will suffer if you become habitually unreliable.
Decluttering Mind: are you constantly worrying about things you have no control over? Or obsessing about past events? Or do you have problems focusing on the present moment because you’re always in your head?
Don’t worry, we’ve all been there *le sigh* Check out this quick meditation (shavasana) to help calm your mind and release that pesky cluttering energy!
Decuttering Your Space: Have you ever walked into a place for the first time and immediately felt overwhelmed or anxious? Or maybe you’ve come home and noticed an overflow of stuff that you had no place for?
Clearing our space is necessary for accessing free flowing creativity.
Here are a few life tools for clearing your space that will limit energy blocks and fatigue
Step 1.) Get rid of unused items- we all have clothes that we will never wear again, books we can donate, or shoes that we just don’t need. Life is all about flow. Emptying old unused things will create space for new things!
Step 2.) Get organized-Get in the habit of putting everything in a specific place. This is what organizing is all about.
All things in nature have order, we are no different. Creating a neat orderly space will optimize your mind by helping you notice other areas in your life that also need order.
